The Saxon principal stud Graditz with its castle and park complex was built by the Dresden master builder M.D. Pöppelmann in 1722.
Founded in 1686, the electoral stud farm is one of the oldest horse breeding centres in Saxony. Today, the breeds of German riding horse - of Trakehner descent - and English thoroughbred are bred here.
