Petting zoo "Torgauer Arche"
A paradise for animal lovers
Following the successful “Landesgartenschau 2022”, a real gem for nature and animal lovers has been preserved in Torgau: the “Torgauer Arche” petting zoo.
This idyllic recreational area in the heart of the town invites you to leave everyday life behind and come into contact with a variety of animals. Here, visitors can get up close and personal with alpacas, sheep, goats, donkeys, guinea pigs, rabbits, quails and many other animals.
Animal encounters and feeding fun
The petting zoo not only offers the opportunity to stroke the animals, but also to feed them. A practical feeding machine provides visitors with food to pamper the animals. This way, guests young and old can not only experience the animals, but also do something good for them and enjoy a special moment.
If you would like to support your favorite animal, you can do so with a sponsorship. Simply contact the keepers on site.
Cared for with heart by the "Elbaue-Werkstätten"
The “Elbaue-Werkstätten” are responsible for the care and maintenance of the animals and the upkeep of the entire site with a great deal of dedication and commitment. The workshops are an important supporter of this project and ensure that the petting zoo remains in optimum condition - for the animals as well as for the visitors.

Free entry for everyone
What's particularly nice is that a visit to the Torgau Ark is free of charge. This means that both locals and tourists can enjoy this unique experience without paying admission. Come by, let yourself be enchanted by the peaceful atmosphere and experience Torgau from its animal side!

You will find the “Torgauer Arche” petting zoo at “Am Stadtpark 6” in Torgau as part of the former “Landesgartenschau”-Grounds.
Opening hours:
During the summer, our small zoo is open for you from 9:00 to 17:00.
In winter you can visit us from 9:00 to 16:00.
