Presentation of fine art in one of the oldest houses in the city
The traditional focus of the Torgau Art and Culture Association Johann Kentmann e.V. is the organization of exhibitions. The vernissage accompanying each exhibition provides direct contact with the artist. "Culture always lives on where people create." These goals are creatively implemented by five working groups (children and adults) – poets, photographers, painters, and dancers – through exhibitions, discussions, readings, dance events, and workshops. The association supports many cultural interests and operates 19 other galleries in the North Saxony district. The association's headquarters, one of the oldest buildings in the city of Torgau, houses two permanent exhibitions: "The Torgau City Physician Johann Kentmann" and "Samuel Hahnemann and Homeopathy."
